Born into a family steeped in classical Indian music, Azeem Ahmed Alvi started learning music from his father, Ustad Sayyed Ahmed Alvi from the age of six. He gave his first performance when he was twelve years old. Since then, Azeem Ahmed Alvi has performed at various prestigious music festivals in India and across the world including – Japan, Singapore, Germany, Vietnam, China, Austria, UK and many more. Known as one of the leading sitar players of the world, he has dabbled in diverse genres like Sufi, Flamenco, Jazz, Electronica & Western Classical music. In 2012, he took his passion for traditional Indian music & sitar to a new level with the creation of his NGO, the Raag Mantra Music Foundation.
