Pavithra Chari is a vocalist, composer from New Delhi. She began her training in Hindustani classical music under Shri. Satya Narayan Maharana and is currently a disciple of Smt. Shubha Mudgal. She is a Sahitya Kala Parishad scholarship holder for advanced training in Hindustani classical music and has represented India in many music conferences/fellowships of repute such as Ethno Germany and Belgium 2015, Shastra Symposium 2016, and the South Asian Music Residency 2017. Pavithra is also one half of the acclaimed contemporary – classical duo Shadow and Light with Anindo Bose. They have written and released three studio albums of original music to critical success and have toured extensively in India, Sri Lanka, and the United States of America. Along with being a student of classical music, Pavithra is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and an Expressive Arts based therapist. She works with Music Basti (Enabling Leadership Foundation) as a music educator, to impart life-skills training through music education to underprivileged children.
