Two Cultures - One Music!
featuring
Kristina Fuchs Trio (Switzerland) and Sharat Chandra Srivastava and Friends (India)
In these unprecedented times, is there anything better than the language of music to unite the people of two nations and two cultures, stemming from our shared love of the arts? The healing power of music generates compassion and understanding which have become essential to survive these trying times.
For two years, Under the Banyan Tree on a Full Moon Night (UTBT), produced by Teamwork Arts held monthly baithak-style concerts in the lush gardens of 1AQ that overlooked the majestic Qutab Minar, under a spectacular full moon, and created a loyal and increasing band of followers who would mark their calendars for each concert. UTBT has since the lockdown begun to spread its special magic in a digital avatar wherein it continues to present curated monthly concerts that are centred on a specific theme, in a virtually-interactive format. As the internet helps us transcend physical borders and unite like never before, UTBT will aim to take its viewers on a journey to a different country with each digital concert. The baithaks will not only showcase the wealth of artistry that has shaped each region’s soundscape, but also give a glimpse of their rich traditions in a celebration of art, culture and a shared sense of being that only the arts can provide, even amidst these uncertain times.
